As exam season consumes her, a perfectionist university student ignores a growing ear infection to focus on her studies. But the infection worsens. Pus oozes constantly, sleep becomes impossible, and her grip on reality begins to unravel. One night, driven by a haunting nightmare, exhaustion, and mounting anxiety, she becomes convinced something is alive inside her ear. A body horror short about the cost of perfection, where the pressure to succeed becomes a breeding ground for something far more terrifying.

Director Biography

Alex Forgues is a Franco-Ontarian writer/director based in Ottawa. He studied documentary at L’Inis, Montreal, as well as fiction at Canadore College in North Bay. Working in both French and English, Alex has written, directed or co-directed works of fiction or documentary, both independent or television programs such as the award-winning shorts "Dirty Laundry," "Porcelaine" and episodes of the second season of "Petites bouches du monde" for TFO.

His most recent work includes «The Den» (2024) and «Cire» (2025).
