Director Biography

Luuk Audenaerde (2001) is a self-taught screenwriter and film director from The Netherlands. His short films have been selected for various film festivals, and since 2023 he has been a member of the Dutch Director’s Guild.

After obtaining his pre-university diploma (vwo) in 2019, he immediately immersed himself in the film industry. He gained experience on local productions. His most recent short film, the thriller 'Nevenschade' premiered at Imagine Fantastic Film Festival in the Méliès d'Argent competition.

Luuk’s work is characterized by an expressive style, in which he visualizes the inner worlds of complex characters through meticulous camerawork and editing. His passion lies in telling confrontational stories that challenge the viewer to look beyond a character’s actions.
