Director Biography

M. Leigh George is a writer, director, location recordist, musician, and award-winning sound designer. He is a graduate of Capilano University’s Independent Indigenous Film-making Program, and a graduate of the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology where he earned a diploma in Sound Engineering and won the Live Sound Ambassador award. He also has a passion for youth engagement and has many years of experience, both teaching and mentoring youth as an instructor at Kettle Point Hillside School, and as the Post-Production Instructor/Lab Supervisor at Cap U. Leigh and his partner Christina Clark established Kettle Point Productions August 2021, and have since directed and produced several documentaries for the Anishinabek Nation and music videos for Brothers Wilde, one of which will be screening at ImagineNative (2026) this summer. Their video Good Day was an official selection at the Southwest International Film-festival and I Hold On was the number one video on the Indigenous Music Countdown for several weeks. As a location recordist Leigh has worked on numerous productions ranging from the APTN/CBC Indspire Awards, Hallmark MOW’s as well as mixing for TIFF selection, Rosie. Currently his mini-docs are being screened in Australia, Shoal Haven First Nations Film Festival. Lost in your Thoughts has played at the Forest City Film festival, LA Skins, 3 Fires Film Festival where it won numerous awards including Audience Choice and Best Sound, Blood in the Snow and the Philip K Dick festival in New York where it won Best Cultural Sci-Fi.
