Song of the Slaughterhouse is about Jimmy—a disillusioned young man who works in a slaughterhouse, where his daily routine consists of butchering animals. The blood, the mechanized violence, and the monotony of his job begin to consume him, staining not only his hands but also his soul. He becomes increasingly detached from reality, his sense of self-dissolving amid the stench of death.  

Through fragmented memories, we see glimpses of his past—his once-hopeful relationship with Rosaline, and his youthful idealism crushed by the weight of existence. As Jimmy spirals deeper into existential crisis, his perception of life and death blurs.
