Newly married Rawan closes her eyes, hoping to drift into sleep, but instead awakens inside a darker version of her reality. Unable to move or control her own body, she becomes trapped in her bedroom with a shadowy entity resembling the Jathoom, the sleep paralysis demon. As the presence moves closer, Rawan struggles against her paralysis and fights to regain control before the entity completely takes over. When her husband wakes her, she believes the nightmare is finally over, only to discover that she may still be trapped inside it.
Director Biography
Rulan Hasan is a Saudi based screenwriter and director working across film and television. She wrote and directed the short horror film Don't Sleep, which won Best Micro Horror at the Little Flix London Film Festival and screened at the Panama Horror Film Festival, Valencia Indie Film Festival, and Iraq Youth Film Festival. She co directed and wrote the award winning short film The Wishlist, and co directed the short film Assutur, which received an award at the Saudi Film Festival in 2026. She wrote the feature film Abd, which won Best Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing at the 9th Saudi Film Festival.
Rulan is currently developing her feature directorial debut, the psychological horror film Close Rose Close, which received four awards at the Red Sea Souk and three awards at the Saudi Film Festival Production Market. Her screenwriting credits include the Netflix Original series Whispers, The Exchange Season 2, and Takki Season 3. She is the Founder and Head of Development at Righters House, where she develops original film and television projects and supports emerging filmmakers through workshops, mentorship, and creative development programmes.
