Director Biography

Hello! I’m Owen McCourt, a student at Hollins High School. Since I was little, I’ve had a passion for storytelling. Throughout my years of development in school and writing, I’ve written multiple short films and one acts; one of my one acts even received a critic’s choice award at a thespian competition, which our troupe also performed the following year. I’ve tried out the role of directing for film a few times. Purgatory is one of my favorite projects I’ve worked on. It’s also one of the most recent ones I’ve been a part of, and having written and directed it, my goal is to send it to festivals as well as colleges. Since I’m a senior in high school this year, I’m moving forward with my ambition of being a film major, possibly specializing in writing as well.
