With a mysterious device he found in a warehouse, a customs officer is searching for a higher power. A student has to reluctantly move back to her parents after quitting college. When they run into each other, she becomes fascinated with his dubious quest.

Director Biography

Joshua founded Blackgate together with Felix Keilen in 2019. We started watching horror movies as teenagers, ones that could only be found in the adult sections - and reshooting them with our friends. Today, we create short films, music videos, fashion videos and documentaries. We delve into modern and popular art, the hardcore punk scene, contemporary dance and body modification.
At our first festival participation, we won a signed „Todesking“ box and had a beer with Jörg Buttgereit in the lobby, still a highlight to this day. „Porzellan“ (2021) screened at the Luxfilmfest and the Biberacher Filmfestspiele, while „Aquarium“ (2023) was featured at Créajeune and won the second Trier Filmfest.
